Here's the Moment

The time has come to put childish things away. Unknowingly, you have been grooming yourself to be you. The person that you are today—right now—is a cultivated creation of all of the information that you have taken in and the effort exerted to succeed in life. Unknowingly, you have been advancing to get to not only this spot, but the next one; and the one after that as well.

Things haven’t always gone the way that you wanted it to. But those were your life lessons. Sometimes they suck. Some are worse than others. But now we know ‘the obstacle is the way’ or as Marcus Aurelius put it: “the impediment to action advances action.” And it’s with that knowledge (and grooming and advancing) that we move into this next step in our lives confident and with courage in our hearts. With a cautious mind—not just for others, but for ourselves as well. Because we spent so much time concerned about everyone else that we lost track of who we were. So now we move on, holding ourselves just as accountable as we hold everyone else, in rank order to your heart, because we must be both the observer and the example.

And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam in thine own eye.
— Matthew 7:3

Now is the time to start being who you were born to be. Those last ten years, when shit wasn’t that cool—fuck it—what’s up with these next ten years? We always say things like if I knew back then what I know now’ or how we wish we could go back in time to change something, well, we’re here. Ten years from now you’re going to remember this time, this moment, these words, and you’re either going to love yourself for it, or hate yourself for not stepping up to be the person you were born to be. We all have our role in this great play in the stars. Our celestial moment is blooming and you want to piss it away as if you don’t have the ability to become someone great. Here’s the moment. Meet you back here in ten years.
